Last Tuesday, three people were injured in an explosion at the Hussey Copper plant in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania.  The plant is located in Leetsdale Industrial Park on Washington Street.

Investigators found that the explosion was caused by water that had spilled underneath ingots at the plant.  They will continue to look into the accident to determine why this happened and if anybody should be held responsible.

Paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident to find one worker with burns on 25 percent of his body and two other injured workers.  The burn injury victim was flown to Mercy Hospital in serious condition.  The other two victims were taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
