Last week, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited a Houston, Pennsylvania maintenance company, C & C Marine Maintenance Co., for several workplace safety violations. OSHA officials have fined the company $45,900.

Investigators determined the company committed 13 serious safety violations at their facility in Wellsburg. ”The lack of employee protections against workplace hazards is unacceptable. It is vital that the company address all of the identified hazards to ensure that employees have a safe and healthy work environment,” said the director of the OSHA Charleston office.

Serious violations are distinguished by the possibility that somebody could become seriously injured or killed as a result of the violation.
