A man has been sentenced to 8 months of jail time in Maine as a result of committing workers' compensation fraud.
While the man was collecting workers' compensation payments for an injury he sustained while working at a excavating company, the man was also working for some hotels. The work for the hotels was completely under the table, and allowed the man to have income from two jobs, one of which he wasn't working.
It is a shame that cases like this are used by companies to try and reduce workers' rights.
Individuals like this give workers' compensation a bad name. If you or someone you know has been injured in a work related accident, contact the Philadelphia workers' compensation lawyers of Lowenthal & Abrams, P.C. at 610-667-7511 for more information on your legal right to compensation.
