Construction Workers Face Many Hazards on the Road

Posted on Friday, March 6th, 2009 at 3:40 am

Construction workers face many different hazards while working on the road.  At any time of the day, dangers exist for these workers.  Many road construction projects try and schedule the work times during non-heavy traffic hours, which normally is at night or early in the morning.  This scheduling time puts workers at risk of impaired drivers.  Very early in the morning,  construction workers have to be attentive of drivers who are sleepy.  At night,  the odds of drunk drivers are higher.

The road also has hazards of its own.   Debris on the road can be struck by passing cars.  This will many time send debris flying through the air as dangerous projectiles.  Many construction workers have been injured by this type of accident in recent years.
