A California police officer was struck by a suspected drunk driver on Friday. The officer, whose name has not yet been released, was pinned between two patrol cars during the collision.
The alleged dunk driver is Jennifer Brown, 55, of Folsom, California. Brown was placed under arrest for suspicion of felony driving under the influence. Tests showed she had more than twice the allowed limit of alcohol in her blood.
The incident occurred as part of a routine traffic stop. Two patrol cars had another individual pulled over on the highway shoulder, when one of the officers saw Brown's vehicle approaching. The injured officer jumped between the two patrol cars to avoid Brown, but was pinned between them when Brown struck the rear cruiser.
The officer sustained injuries to his leg and hip but is believed to be in stable condition.
