Company Car Accidents

Of all of the accidents that occur on the road each year, a high percentage of them involve people that are on the road for professional reasons. Truck drivers, delivery drivers, and travelers are all involved in thousands of accidents each year, many of which cause serious injuries, even death. In many cases, the drivers involved were using a company car to travel or to deliver goods.

Accidents in the company car can be dangerous from a liability standpoint, especially if the car has not been maintained or is not up to standards. It is the responsibility of the employer to provide a company car that is well-maintained, inspected, registered, and safe. Of course, the driver must be cautious, and many accidents are unavoidable, but anything resulting from a lack of maintenance on the car could be a liability for the company.

It is also important for the employer to train employees in how to drive a company car. Many company cars are delivery trucks that are very big and require different licenses and training than a regular motor vehicle. Putting an employee on the road in a vehicle that they have not been trained to drive is an extremely dangerous proposition and can cause a significant problems for the company.
